Whole dried rosehips — Rosa canina, the fruit that forms on the rose plant after the flower drops. Bright, tart, and fruity, brewing to a clear ruby-toned cup with a clean citrus-adjacent finish.
Rosehips are one of the few herbal teas with real acidity, which makes them useful as a counterweight in blends where everything else is sweet or earthy.
Flavor
Tart • Fruity • Bright • Clean • Ruby-toned
Ingredients
Organic dried rosehips (Rosa canina), whole. Single-ingredient. No additives or fillers. Naturally caffeine-free.
How to Brew
Use 1–2 teaspoons per 8 oz cup. Rosehips are dense fruit and slow to extract, so give them 10 to 15 minutes covered — or simmer gently for 10 minutes for a deeper, richer infusion.
A short steep produces something pale and thin. The color is your indicator: a properly brewed cup is clearly red, not faintly pink.
Ways to Use
Rosehip makes an excellent iced tea — its tartness suits cold serving better than most herbs. Blend with chamomile at three to one to add color and acidity to an otherwise soft cup, or with elderberry and cinnamon for a deeper winter blend. It is also a standard ingredient in homemade elderberry syrup.
Sweeten with raw honey if you find it sharp on its own.
