Dried Urtica dioica leaf — mild, earthy, and distinctly green, with a gentle grassy finish that sits somewhere between green tea and a vegetable broth. Single-ingredient, caffeine-free, packed loose.
This is the leaf, not the root. That distinction matters more than most sellers admit — nettle leaf and nettle root are different products with different chemistry and entirely separate bodies of research. What you are buying here is the culinary leaf, the part traditionally brewed as tea and cooked like spinach.
Flavor
Green • Earthy • Vegetal • Mildly grassy • Clean finish
Ingredients
Organic dried stinging nettle leaf (Urtica dioica). Leaf only, no root. Single-ingredient. No additives or fillers. Naturally caffeine-free.
Does It Sting?
No. Fresh nettle stings because of fine hairs that inject formic acid — which is where the name comes from. Drying deactivates them completely, and so does cooking. Dried nettle leaf is entirely safe to handle and brew.
How to Brew
Use 1–2 teaspoons per 8 oz cup. Pour water just off the boil over the leaf and steep 10 to 15 minutes, covered. Nettle is slower to give up its character than it looks — a short steep tastes like warm water.
For a stronger, more mineral-tasting cup, try an overnight infusion: a generous tablespoon in a jar of just-boiled water, covered, left 8 to 12 hours, then strained. This is the traditional preparation and it produces something considerably deeper than a quick cup.
Ways to Use
Drink it plain, or brighten it with lemon — nettle's green character takes acidity well. Blends with dandelion root for something earthier, with spearmint for lift — three parts nettle to one is a good starting ratio — or with a spoonful of raw honey. Dried nettle can also be crumbled into soups, stocks, and savory dishes much like dried parsley.
