Start with a small amount — about 1/2 teaspoon per 8 oz of water for tea, and less for baking. Lavender has a concentrated floral flavor, so add gradually and adjust to taste.
Store tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from moisture, direct sunlight, excessive heat, and strong odors. Use a clean, dry utensil when removing the buds.
For tea, steep 1/2-1 teaspoon of buds in 8 oz of hot water for 5 minutes. For baking, grind the buds with sugar first to distribute the flavor. A little goes a long way.
