Farmer Soul is committed to reducing reliance on plastic use within our own supply chains. As a result we have developed simple guidelines that sourcing team is required to consider and request vendor to comply prior to accepting delivery of any products from manufacturers. We do not just seek to deliver quality products, but while in the process of sourcing our supply chain will carry minimal carbon footprint and pursue reduction of carbon and industrial waste by engaging with our teams and suppliers to prioritizing green and environmental alternatives.

  1. Minimize or eliminate completely plastic design for individual consumer goods both as an end product and while in transit.
  2. Consolidate and minimize packaging plastic use in freight.
  3. Utilize packaging from recycled or regenerative natural fibers.
  4. Properly dispose and recycle all plastic upon arrival.

Did you know that by 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in our oceans? It is very much likely as every hour the equivalent of 60 rubbish trucks of plastic leak into our water streams that ultimately end up in the ocean. If we consider the use of shopping bags alone every minute worldwide one million bags are used, or 150 bags annually for every person on earth. With such perpetual use of plastic, the impact on marine wildlife is devastating. An estimated 100 million marine animals die each year due to discarded plastic, and  the problem is simply worsening. It is now estimated that by 2050, we will have more plastic than fish in the world’s oceans (The Ellen MacArthur Foundation, New Plastics Economy )
